DRAFT — NOT LEGAL ADVICE. Prepared for review by a licensed attorney. Not reviewed by counsel. Do not publish as-is. See review notes at the end.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It explains how billing works, what happens at the end of your trial, and when refunds are and aren't available.
We've written it plainly on purpose. Billing surprises are bad for you and bad for us.
1. The Short Version
- 7-day free trial. Card required at signup.
- On day 8 you are charged automatically unless you cancel first. We tell you the exact date and amount before you enter your card, and email you a reminder before it happens.
- Cancel any time, in one click, from your billing settings.
- Subscription payments are not refundable. The trial is how you evaluate.
- Founding 50 is different: 14-day full refund, no questions.
The rest of this document is the detail.
2. The Free Trial
What you get. 7 days of full access to the tier you selected at signup.
Card required. You must provide a valid payment method to start the trial. We do not charge it during the trial.
Your consent. Before you enter your card, we show you the exact charge date and amount and ask you to affirmatively confirm it. We record the exact wording you agreed to, along with the date and time. You cannot start a trial without this.
What happens on day 8. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged the rate you agreed to, and your subscription begins. This is automatic.
We remind you. We email you before your trial ends, telling you the date and the amount, with a link to cancel. Check your spam folder — but the reminder is a courtesy, not a condition of the charge. The charge happens whether or not you see the email.
One trial per person. Trials are limited to one per person and one per payment method. We use payment method identifiers to enforce this. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials violates our Terms of Service and may result in termination.
Cancelling during the trial. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you are not charged. Access continues until the trial period expires.
3. Subscriptions
Tiers and prices. Illuminate, Understand, and Redesign, at the rates displayed at the time you subscribe.
Introductory pricing. Where an introductory rate is offered, it applies for the stated period and then automatically converts to the standard rate. Both rates and the conversion date are disclosed before purchase and are part of what you consent to.
Billing cycle. Monthly subscriptions bill every month on your signup date. Annual subscriptions bill every 12 months.
Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current rate until you cancel.
Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change. Changes take effect at your next renewal. You may cancel before then. Founding 50 members are never subject to price changes.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, our payment processor will retry over several days and email you to update your card. We may suspend access until payment succeeds. Repeated failure may result in cancellation.
Taxes. Prices exclude applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout.
4. Cancellation
How. Your account settings → billing → cancel. One click. No phone call, no email, no retention conversation.
When it takes effect. Cancellation stops future charges. Your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. You are not charged again.
During a trial. Cancel before it ends and you are never charged.
Reactivation. You can resubscribe any time. Your data is retained unless you delete your account.
We do not make cancellation hard. If cancelling is ever anything other than one click from your settings, that's a bug — email enzo@quantx.digital and we'll fix it.
5. Refunds — Subscriptions
Subscription payments are non-refundable. This includes monthly and annual charges, and applies to partial periods.
Why. The 7-day free trial is your evaluation period. You get full access before you pay anything, and you're told exactly when and what you'll be charged. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
Partial periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access through the end of the period. We do not prorate or refund unused time.
Exceptions. This policy does not limit any right you have under applicable law that cannot be waived by agreement. Additionally, we will refund:
- Duplicate or erroneous charges caused by our error
- Charges after a valid cancellation
- Cases where applicable law requires a refund
If you believe you were charged in error, email enzo@quantx.digital and we will investigate promptly.
A note. Our stated policy is no refunds on subscriptions, and that's what governs. But if something has genuinely gone wrong — you were charged for a service that wasn't working, or something happened that we'd both agree isn't right — email us before you dispute the charge. We would rather have the conversation than have your bank have it for us. We're small enough to actually read the email.
6. Refunds — Founding 50
Founding 50 is different, and it is the exception to Section 5.
14-day full refund, no questions asked.
How it works:
- Request within 14 days of your purchase date by emailing enzo@quantx.digital
- No reason required. No conditions.
- Refunded to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days
- Your Founding 50 access ends and your spot returns to the pool
- Your account remains — you can subscribe normally if you want to
After 14 days. The Founding 50 purchase is final and non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Why 14 days and not longer. Long enough to genuinely evaluate. Short enough that the decision stays a decision. See the Founding 50 Terms for the full terms of that offer.
7. Chargebacks and Disputes
Please contact us first. If you don't recognize a charge or believe it's wrong, email enzo@quantx.digital. Most issues are resolved in one reply.
What a chargeback does. Filing a dispute with your bank without contacting us costs us significantly more than a refund would, and typically takes far longer to resolve for you.
Our response. We may present evidence to your bank in response to a dispute, including your consent record — the exact terms you agreed to, with the date and time.
Account status. Accounts with a chargeback may be suspended pending resolution.
Statement descriptor. Charges appear on your statement as QUANTX.DIGITAL. If you see something you don't recognize, that's us — email before you dispute.
8. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, receive, or store your card number.
Card details are entered directly on Stripe's hosted checkout page. Updating your card, viewing invoices, and cancelling are handled through Stripe's billing portal, accessible from your account settings.
Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.

Review Notes for Counsel
- Negative-option compliance (§2) — the card-required auto-converting trial is the central compliance question. Confirm disclosure, consent capture, and cancellation mechanics satisfy the FTC Negative Option Rule / ROSCA and applicable state auto-renewal statutes. California's ARL is the strictest and will apply to California users; confirm its specific requirements are met, including the acknowledgment and cancellation-mechanism provisions.
- "Non-refundable" (§5) — confirm enforceability across US states. Some state consumer protection statutes constrain absolute no-refund terms. §5's savings clause is intended to address this; confirm it is adequate.
- Trial reminder email — §2 characterizes the reminder as a courtesy rather than a condition. Confirm this is correct — some state auto-renewal laws require pre-renewal notice as a condition of the charge. If California or another applicable state requires it, this section is wrong and must be rewritten.
- One trial per payment method (§2) — confirm that fingerprinting payment methods for abuse prevention is disclosed adequately in the Privacy Policy.
- Founding 50 refund (§6) — confirm the 14-day window and the "spot returns to the pool" mechanic create no issue with the scarcity representation on the marketing site.
- Introductory pricing (§3) — confirm the intro-rate-to-standard-rate conversion is disclosed in a manner satisfying negative-option requirements. This is a second automatic price increase after the trial conversion and may warrant its own disclosure.
- Effective date — insert before publication.
